Christine McGuinness Champions Sensory-Friendly, Gender-Free Underwear in OK! Magazine
Being Wear has been featured in a four-page interview with Christine McGuinness in the 17 August 2026 print edition of OK! magazine, as part of her role fronting our UK launch.
The feature, titled “Most women, especially if they’ve modelled, are judged,” explores Christine’s life as she moves into a new chapter. She speaks candidly about motherhood, neurodiversity, her identity and plans for the future—including writing her first novel and establishing a place of her own in London.
The feature also introduces OK! readers to Christine’s partnership with Being Wear and her role fronting our UK launch campaign.
Christine is autistic and has ADHD, while each of her three children is also autistic. Her family’s lived experience means she understands just how significant sensory details such as seams, labels and restrictive waistbands can be.
OK! describes Being Wear as an inclusive underwear brand with sensory-friendly products designed with neurodivergent people in mind. The article also explains how we have moved beyond traditional men’s and women’s categories, designing underwear around body fit and personal preference rather than gender.
Christine told the magazine that our approach immediately felt relevant to her family:
“It hit home and resonated with me straightaway because I’m always cutting labels off our clothing.”
Being Wear uses super-soft modal fabric and sensory-considerate construction to help reduce common sources of irritation. Our underwear has no scratchy tags or harsh seams and is created to feel comfortable against the skin throughout the day.
Christine was equally drawn to the freedom offered by our gender-free approach:
“Imagine going into a shop and it just being gender-free shopping, where you can all wear whatever you want—not his or hers. I really love it.”
That idea sits at the heart of Being Wear. We want people to choose underwear based on their body, their comfort and what makes them feel good—not a gender label assigned to a store section.
The OK! feature includes an image of Christine wearing Being Wear and highlights her role as the neurodiversity advocate fronting our UK launch on National Underwear Day.
Christine’s openness about autism, ADHD, identity and becoming more comfortable with herself makes her an authentic advocate for everything Being Wear represents. We’re incredibly proud to have her helping us introduce a more comfortable and inclusive approach to underwear across the UK.
