If you’ve ever ripped out an itchy tag, been distracted all day by a scratchy waistband, or wished underwear didn’t feel like a battle to wear, you’re not alone. Around 1 in 5 Australians experience sensory sensitivities, and for many, underwear is the worst offender.
At Being Wear, we believe comfort is a right, not a luxury. That’s why we designed our underwear to be sensory-friendly from the very first stitch - for neurodivergent people, for sensitive skin, and for anyone who just wants their most essential layer to feel really good.

What makes being sensory-friendly?
- No scratchy tags. All our labels are printed directly onto the fabric, so there’s nothing to irritate your skin.
- Seam-smart design. Flat seams and smooth finishes that minimise friction and pressure points.
- Soft, breathable modal. Made from renewable beech tree pulp, modal is naturally silky, lightweight, and gentle on sensitive skin.
- Deep smooth waistbands. Offering support without pinching or digging in.
Why it matters?
As psychologist Nina Krivoshev puts it:
“Sensory-considerate underwear isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessary accommodation for many neurodivergent people.”
And we agree. The right underwear can mean the difference between distraction and focus, discomfort and calm, or feeling unseen and feeling affirmed.

Designed for freedom - in fit and identity
Underwear shouldn’t come with a gender label. Our pieces are completely gender-free, so you can shop by style, tops or bottoms, without being told what you “should” wear. We’ve replaced the men’s/women’s sizing with one universal size chart that works across all styles and body types. Because the most personal clothing you own should be the one thing that makes you feel most like you.
