"Aussie first 'gender-free' underwear brand changing the way we shop. The new era of underwear has arrived."
Why 7NEWS took notice
Being Wear was created to solve a problem most underwear brands have never really addressed: the traditional men's and women's aisle doesn't work for everyone, and neither does underwear built without sensory comfort in mind. Our range has no gendered sections. Instead, shoppers choose tops or bottoms based on their body and preferences, including styles with and without a pouch.
Every piece is made from super-soft, breathable modal, with flat seams, no irritating tags and smooth, no-dig waistbands, sensory-considerate details that make Being Wear genuinely sensory-friendly, not just gender-free by name. It's a design approach built around real bodies rather than categories, which is exactly the shift 7NEWS picked up on.
Being Wear was founded by Andrew Whittle after his daughter struggled to find underwear that felt comfortable for her sensory needs, and the traditional men's and women's categories didn't reflect her identity either. That personal starting point still shapes every product we make.
Being recognised by 7NEWS as a brand changing the category is a milestone we're proud of, and a sign that gender-free, sensory-considerate design is resonating well beyond our own community.
