Being Wear partners with Thread Together

We’re incredibly proud to announce that Being Wear has joined forces with Thread Together to help provide new clothing, comfort and dignity to Australians experiencing hardship.

Our partnership has two important streams: supporting Thread Together’s Wardrobe & Capsule Service and joining its Fashion Impact Collective.

Both reflect something we believe deeply: everyone deserves comfort. Everyone deserves choice. And everyone deserves the dignity of something new.

Providing essential underwear when it’s needed most

Being Wear is supporting Thread Together’s Wardrobe & Capsule Service by providing brand-new underwear to wardrobes located inside women’s shelters and crisis accommodation.

These wardrobes give women escaping domestic and family violence immediate access to essential new clothing when they arrive—often during one of the most difficult and uncertain moments of their lives.

Underwear is one of the most personal and essential items someone can need, yet it is also among the least commonly donated. Providing something new, comfortable and thoughtfully designed can offer more than practicality. It can help restore a sense of dignity, choice and personal comfort at a time when those things matter enormously.

As a brand built around creating comfort for all human beings, we’re honoured to contribute our products to this vital service.

Joining the Fashion Impact Collective

Being Wear has also joined Thread Together’s Fashion Impact Collective, which brings fashion brands together to help sustain the national service responsible for getting new clothing to people experiencing hardship.

Because donating clothing is only part of the story.

Behind every item distributed is an Australia-wide network of people, collection services, warehousing, logistics and systems. These resources are essential to sorting, managing and redistributing clothing responsibly, ensuring it reaches the right people at the right time.

The Fashion Impact Collective helps support this infrastructure so Thread Together can continue its work now and into the future.

For Being Wear, joining the Collective is about taking greater responsibility for the clothing we create and supporting a more thoughtful fashion industry—one in which brand-new excess clothing can become a meaningful opportunity to help someone else.

Better for people. Better for the planet.

Thread Together helps redirect brand-new clothing away from landfill and into the hands of people who need it. It is a practical model that supports both social and environmental outcomes.

This closely aligns with our commitment to creating a more inclusive, caring and responsible business. While our underwear is made using more sustainable modal fabric and sent in compostable packaging, we know responsible production is only one part of the picture.

We must also think carefully about what happens to excess products and how they can be used to create a positive impact.

Through this partnership, Being Wear can help provide essential underwear directly to people experiencing hardship while also supporting the people, logistics and infrastructure that make Thread Together’s national service possible.

We’re proud to stand alongside Thread Together and the other brands helping build a fashion industry that is better for people and better for the planet.

Thank you to the entire Thread Together team for the incredible work you do—and for giving us the opportunity to play a small part in it.
